Had considered the other vinyl "leather" version but glad I didn't settle. It installed easily by loosening the hex bolt almost completely, slide on, centre & tighten.I chose it over the other vinyl version for 2 reasons:(A) meshed webbing for temperature regulation - Like the HM Aeron chair, I like the neutral temperature (non sweating) and it has the appropriate amount of give/cushion. However, some may not like the "feel" of the mesh/webbing on a bare neck or skull. (B)locking depth mechanism - works well for rest. I wanted the option of moving neck support forward while typing/reading and not solely for resting...I'm still tinkering with this aspect. Would have given it 5 stars if: 1) price wasn't quite so expensive 2) the headrest's tilt and slider mechanisms had locking levers(similar to depth) for optional free floating vs locked 3) the lateral curvature of the headrest could be wider if... I'm 6'4" and this definitely supports my neck just fine in the large aeron chair. There are several pivot points in the head rest so it's easy to find the right position. My only grief with this product is that there is only one lock for the main pivot joint in the head rest. This head rest has two more pivot/sliding points which do not have an external mechanism to lock them into place. I find myself adjusting the head rest quite frequently if I stretch my arms or lean back in the chair. Now granted, I'd rather deal with these issues than have no head rest at all but there's room for a lot of improvement especially at the price point its currently at. |
