Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?) Hon calls this a high-back work chair. Hon isn't calling it ergonomic chair, although one can sit on it in an ergonomically correct way. Great value, truly outstanding value compared to all the chairs I've seen in either big box or office supply stores.It's super easy to assemble, although not as easy as the Aeron. There's not much to assembly but know this is a heavy chair. There's a thick seat cushion with mesh fabric upholstered. The back is pure mesh, and tight too. The arms adjust nicely and I like them. The chair looks as if it costs more than it does. I had volunteers at the office sit on it. Each gave it a favorable opinion. It's comfortable and does several basic things: swivel; tilt with tension control; tilt lock; pneumatic lift and adjustable height arms. Hon has several models that use parts common to this model. I sit the chair for about 20 hours a week a home, so I've had some time to get familiar. Anyways, heres some details on the chair that I thought could be useful. Arm rests -Height adjustable. Can extend about three inches higher -Elbow rests are fairly soft and slightly grooved down the center for arms to lay flat forward. I would describe these arm rests as a dense sponge wrapped with a rubber/plastic material Base cushion -Semi-soft cushion, with a mesh outer layer which allows for 'breathing'. -The cushion has butt and leg curvature, in other words the crotch/thigh area is quite elevated. The step-by-step instructions that came with it were clear and easy to follow, and I was impressed. The parts were all very well-marked. The assembled chair looks really nice. In fact, one of my friends saw my new chair the day after I put it together, and offered to buy it from me on the spot! The seat is wide and well-padded. It really rolls great on carpeting. It swivels and reclines nicely. Unfortunately, something came up that has turned into a real deal breaker, at least for me. After using the chair a couple of weeks, it has begun creaking and groaning very loudly every time I shift my body weight or move even slightly. The noise is very distracting, and I no longer like the chair. I am sure I put it together properly. I am now looking to replace it. |
