The locking mechanism holds the paper in place makes this cutter unique. I cut 10 sheets of cardstock at one time and didn't have to worry. The locking mechanism on the trimmer arm means no ruined cuts due to the paper moving; the magnetic clamp can be used as a paper gauge to make consistent cuts or as another clamp for the paper (not that it's really needed); and the blade cuts thru multiple sheets of paper almost effortlessly.My only gripe with the Heavy-Duty trimmers is the lack of selection of cutting blades. For this series only a straight cutting blade and a perforation blade are available. Compare this to the lower end Professional series, where 8 different "craft" blades are available to add decorative edges to your cuts. I don't understand why the more expensive line of trimmers would end up with less function than a lower end product.
