A truly worthless piece of junk. If you're looking for a device that will trim paper easily, accurately and reliably, buy a different item, preferably one with a sliding rotary blade and not a guillotine type trimmer. Our office owns one of these, and I'm trying to send it back for credit. It just doesn't work. After about 4 to 6 inches, the thing stops cutting your paper or worse yet mangles the paper with an uneven edge, veering off the path. Don't ask how and why a laser is supposed to take care of this problem. To summarize: This product sucks. Don't buy it. I spent $80 on the cutting board for my classroom. I bought it because of the laser function, but don't bother trying to use the laser. The cutting board said 12" on the box, but shows 11.5"on the board. I should have just spent my money on a simple cutting board. Without the laser, I'd rate this to be a so-so paper cutter, middling quality. What makes this paper cutter so disappointing is the laser. First, the laser adjustments are cheap. A small adjustment moves the laser a significant amount. Would it have been so hard to have a fine-tuning adjustment? Second, a small bump of the paper cutter can cause the laser to become unadjusted. But worst of all, because the laser is mirrored in from the side, the thickness of the paper to be cut will alter the cut line. Even cutting two pieces of paper instead of one will throw off the accuracy of the cut. My advice? Forget the laser and buy a cheaper model, or buy a heavier, sturdier model.
